Leanne Friedman is an active music educator, freelance flutist, and artistic director based in NYC. She has performed in a variety of venues throughout the Northeastern US and Europe. She is the founder and artistic director of Femmelody Chamber Music Collective, an NYC-based group of women musicians with the mission of giving the historically silenced voices of women in classical music an new chance to sing out and celebrating the vibrant artistic voices of today’s women. Leanne has had the pleasure of teaching instrumental and general music to students grades K-12 in a variety of group and individual settings. She is currently pursuing her M.A. in Music Education at NYU Steinhardt and has experience teaching band, strings, choir, percussion, and general music.
