Violinist Angela Kim is a senior at The Juilliard School under the tutelage of Sally Thomas. Prior to her undergraduate studies, she studied at Juilliard Pre-College with Ann Setzer. Angela has been a soloist with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, performing Sarasate’s Carmen Fantasy. She recently performed Chausson’s Poème with K-Radio Symphony, and made her orchestral debut at the age of 15 playing Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor with Nova Philharmonic.
She has played in masterclasses and has been coached by internationally acclaimed professors including Shmuel Ashkenasi, Christiane Hutcap, Stefan Jackiw, Ida Kavafian, Igor Ozim, Pavel Vernikov, and Krzysztof Wegryzn at the Heifetz International Music Institute, Great Mountain Music Festival, Meadowmount School of Music, Mozarteum Summer Academy, and Academy of Music Tibor Varga, among others. Angela is a Morse Teaching Artist Fellow.
