Karl Lyden is a low-brass musician based in New York City. He has performed/recorded with such artists as Lucy Woodward, John Daversa, No BS! Brass, Lawrence, and is a member of ska-punk band Streetlight Manifesto. Karl received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he became well-versed in jazz and classical repertoire. He then completed a Master’s degree at New York University where he was an adjunct faculty instructor. His first big band chart “Downside Up” was the 2011 Winner for Undergraduate Orchestrated Work in Downbeat Magazine. He was recently in the band for the new musical Lazarus written by David Bowie as well as the first national tour of Broadway’s A Night with Janis Joplin. He currently holds the trombone chair at Prince of Broadway.
