Harmony Program and NY Philharmonic Host Annual Youth Orchestra Day

On April 1st, the Harmony Program held its fifth annual Youth Orchestra Day with the New York Philharmonic at the United Palace Theater in Washington Heights. The event gathered over 80 beginner string students from across the City and Long Island for a full day of coaching by teaching artists of the New York Philharmonic and introduced many of our young musicians to the orchestral experience for the very first time. The day culminated in a joyful side-by-side performance for family, friends, and community members.

The Harmony Program thanks our New York Philharmonic colleagues, including Ted Wiprud, Debora Kang, Stanichika Dimitrova, Janey Choi, Caeli Smith, and Arlen Hlusko; conductor David Barg; the United Palace of Cultural Arts; and our parents and students for a beautiful day of music-making.
