On Monday, Warner Music Group announced the creation of the Warner Music Prize, an annual award that will recognize a professional musician aged 35 or under who demonstrates exceptional talent and promise in the realm of classical music. The nominees for the inaugural award are drawn from the young singers and instrumentalists presented by Carnegie Hall during the 2014-15 concert season.
The Harmony Program is honored to have been selected as one of two beneficiaries of the inaugural Warner Music Prize gala, which will be held on October 27, 2015 at Carnegie Hall. As an organization committed to bringing music making into the city’s under-served communities, the Harmony Program witnesses first-hand the benefits of rigorous classical music instruction, and we are proud to participate in an initiative that cultivates and celebrates musical achievement.
