Harmony Program students perform at NYC DOT Summer Streets

On Saturday, August 9, 2014, Harmony Program students from our summer program in Brooklyn brought their music outside as part of the NYC Department of Transportation’s Summer Streets. This outdoor celebration is an annual event in which almost seven miles of NYC streets are closed to traffic and instead used as open space for people to play, run, walk, and bike.  The Harmony Program was fortunate enough to be invited to perform at Foley Square as one of the local musical performances that passersby could enjoy.

Musicians from our Brooklyn Orchestra had a blast performing a few selections of classical and pop music, including an arrangement of “Let’s Get Loud.” Check out a clip from their performance!
