Performance with Orpheus at 92NY
Since 2019, the Harmony Program has partnered with the Grammy-Award winning Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. Over the years, Orpheus musicians have welcomed our students into rehearsals, hosted them at concerts, led masterclasses in the art of performing without a conductor, and provided our young people with hours of professional mentorship and instruction.
This year, on December 14th, five of our students had the unforgettable opportunity to perform alongside Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and New York Philharmonic Principal Clarinetist (and Harmony Program Board member), Anthony McGill. This encore performance on the stage of 92NY featured “Harmony,” a piece composed for the Harmony Program in 2018 by television and film conductor, Jeff Beal.
We thank these generous artists for their investment in our young musicians and look forward to welcoming our friends at Orpheus back this spring to perform a public side-by-side concert with our All Stars String Orchestra.
