Last weekend, our Teaching Artist Training program ramped up with three days of professional development. Manager of School Partnerships Lauren Hobbs opened the sessions with a Classroom Management Crash Course, drawing on her deep experience in NYC classrooms to give TAs concrete strategies for building strong routines and high expectations from day one. This session was generously hosted by our friends at RSM US LLP. Our weekend sessions featured  Dr. Scott Edgar, a leader in Social-Emotional Learning in music education who led Teaching Artists through hands-on exercises exploring how to bring a holistic, SEL-informed approach into their music classrooms. Energized by these sessions, our TAs are heading into the year well-equipped and inspired.
