On Saturday, June 17th, the Harmony Program held Youth Orchestra Day in Manhattan. More than 50 students from 10 schools across New York City gathered at New Design High School in the Lower East Side for an opportunity to be part of an ensemble. Students enjoyed a full day of rehearsals, peer connection, and a private performance by the Harlem Chamber Players String Quartet. The day concluded with a public performance that filled the auditorium with harmony. We can’t wait for many of our 2023 Youth Orchestra Day participants from this Manhattan event and the Bronx event we held in May to join the Harmony Program Youth Orchestra system in the fall.
